Crafted by the great Maya civilization who once thrived here, this architectural palace gets its name from the Yucatec Mayan "Lama'an'ain" meaning ๐ด๐ถ๐ฃ๐ฎ๐ฆ๐ณ๐จ๐ฆ๐ฅ ๐ค๐ณ๐ฐ๐ค๐ฐ๐ฅ๐ช๐ญ๐ฆ, a significant symbol representing the back of a large reptileโs back as the land. Occupied as late as the 17th century, a Maya revolt drove the Spanish out after they established two Roman Catholic churches here.
